What is SMI?

The Society for Molecular Imprinting (SMI) is a non-profit organization committed to excellence in all aspects of Molecular Imprinting Technology. It is intended to serve as a platform for workers in this rapidly evolving area to get in touch and exchange ideas, with the purpose of acting as a catalyst for a fast development of this exciting technology. Formally founded as recent as in 1997, SMI is yet to build up many of the services that it intends to offer to its members. The Society also promotes communication among members with its Internet resources, and through the membership directories.

SMI is truly an international organization consisting of members from all corners of the world, and with a Board consisting of distinguished scientists from Europe, Japan and USA. SMI members are at the forefront of research, and are constantly advancing to new frontiers, into all aspects of Molecular Imprinting.

How Can Membership Benefit You?

Get Free Access to the Society's Internet Resources
For the very latest SMI information, members can access the on-line computer network from the Society. Members can also help determine future information services available on this important network.

Get Free Access to the Database of Molecular Imprinting Literature
This database is a unique, continuously updated collection of all published materials in the Molecular Imprinting area.

Receive the Latest News from the Society's News Flash
Get updated on the latest events in Molecular Imprinting. Learn about upcoming conferences and symposia, new trends, vacant positions, etc.

Meet with Colleagues Using the SMI Membership Directory.
To network with colleagues throughout the year, members count on the SMI Membership Directory.

Who Belongs to SMI?

Anyone with an interest in some aspect of Molecular Imprinting, ranging from the preparation of molecularly imprinted materials to their various applications, is invited to become a member. Our members come from many disciplines in the chemical, medical and biological sciences: organic and polymer chemistry, biochemistry, material sciences, clinical and pharmaceutical sciences, and many more!
